Year: 1924
(Ezaki Glico)
While we know that similar vending machines were made by 遠藤嘉一 (Kaichi Endo), the only source I have that says this one was as well is a blog entry (archive). If you find any more information, I would like to know. This is based off the comic series
This original machine is on display at グリコ 江崎記念館 (Glico Ezaki Memorial Museum). There is at least one more surviving copy. We know it is different because the metal on the head is caved in slightly:

Confectionery vending machine (same model)
This is a vending machine used by Ezaki Glico to sell Nutrient Nako Glico at its confectionery stores. It is said to be the first confectionery vending machine in Japan. The illustration of ``Sho-chan and the Squirrel'' was a popular manga at the time, and the entire box served as a signboard, making it very noticeable and attracting a lot of attention. There is a clockwork mechanism inside, and when you put money in it, it makes a clicking sound and the nutritional sweets Glico comes out.
At the museum it is displayed next to 1931 映画付きグリコ自動販売機 [再現] (Glico vending machine with movie [reproduction]) [at グリコ 江崎記念館] by 江崎グリコ (Ezaki Glico).
You can see video of the machine at 2:16 here:
