This machine is a copy of the 1934 USA machine Major League by Pacific Amusement Manufacturing Company (PAMCO)
1934 Major League (Model 44) by Pamco |
The image in the Nichigo catalogue appears to be an altered copy of this advertisement:
1934 Major League (Model 44) by Pamco |
Let's compare the two:
Someone has drawn over the coin door, put in a Japanese coin acceptor, and removed the design from the side.
The balls are in motion in the exact same ways on both!
Earlier version of Major League had a cast iron sign on the front:
The Model 44 version (the version that was copied) does not have the cast iron sign.
The Japanese sign appears to no say "Base Game"
We would need to see a photograph of the real machine to know for sure what the difference are. I think the Japanese version was the American advertisement photo that was later altered. Maybe they managed to replicate it very well with the Japanese machine? It is hard to say.
I do not believe this game was made in the USA. I think it is copied from the design. I think if there was a contract from American companies to produce games for Japan it would have been revealed over the last 85 years.
